Hitbodedut - הִתְבּוֹדְדוּת
Pronunciation: Hit·bo·de·dut
Literal translation: Seclusion, alone time
One of the ways some Israelis prepare for Rosh HaShana and the High Days, is by doing some hitbodedut in the forest or other secluded places.
So if during these days you are hiking somewhere in Israel, and you hear someone cry or talk to himself, that doesn't mean he is for sure crazy. He might just be in the middle of his hitbodedut.
