Mivtzar - מִבְצָר

Pronunciation: Miv·tzar

Literal translation: Fortress, castle, a citadel

There are several mivtzarim in Israel, some of which are thousands of years old. From Mivtzar Namrud at the foot of the Hermon to the Herodium, near Jerusalem, they really are scattered all over the country.

Even the Tower of David and the Old City walls in Jerusalem are considered mivtzarim.
