Literal translation: Paramedic

This is a useful word to know but we hope you won't need one personally. In Israel, Magen David Adom is the national organization responsible for emergency pre-hospital medical care and blood services.

The organization also operates a volunteer program in which volunteers are trained in first aid, basic and advanced life support including mobile intensive care units; transportation of patients, women in labor, and evacuation of those wounded and killed in road accidents.
