Literal translation: Social distancing; physical distancing
Social distancing basically means the avoidance of close contact with other people during an outbreak of a contagious disease to minimize exposure and reduce the transmission of the disease.
To put this in practical terms, Israel had the restriction that everyone must stay 2 meters / 6 feet from other people who are not part of their household. Israelis couldn't venture further than 100 meters from their homes for a time, however; trips to the supermarket and pharmacy are allowed.
