The Death of Lt. Col. M

On November 11, 2018, a secret undercover mission in the Gaza Strip went terribly wrong, ending in the death of 'M', an IDF officer whose name remains secret to this day, due to the secret missions he participated in throughout his career.

What we can say is that he grew up in the northern part of Israel, near Haifa. After getting drafted to the Paratroopers elite unit, 'M' went on to become an officer, and from there he transferred to a special covert unit.

On November 11th, 2018, an undercover IDF unit entered the Gaza Strip, in a truck filled with food. The truck aroused Hamas's suspicion, and they pulled the truck over while calling for backup. The IDF force felt they were going to get caught, so they opened fire on the Hamas men, killing seven of them. Lt. Col. 'M' was accidentally hit by the fire and died from his wounds.

IDF aircrafts quickly arrived and fired at the Hamas forces that trailed the IDF truck, which was making a quick escape towards Israeli soil. A helicopter with a soldier and a doctor from the 669 rescue unit arrived and returned the forces to Israel.

Details about the force's mission still remain confident. On September 22, 2019, 'M' received the Chief of Staff Citation for his actions.
