It is commonly said that Israel is a melting pot, with people from various countries, cultures, and religions. All these people make up the wonderful country of Israel and all contribute to the country in their own way. Whether through politics, music, sports, or undercover missions each of the following past and current individuals have and continue to shape Israel.

May 3, 1898 - December 8, 1978

Born in Kyiv, Golda Meir was raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the United States. At 23 she and her husband immigrated to Mandatory Palestine to Kibbutz Merhavia. Three years later they settled in Jerusalem where their two children were born. On March 17, 1969, Golda Meir became the fourth prime minister of Israel and the first and only woman to hold office until today.

Born April 30, 1985

Gal Gadot was crowned Miss Israel in 2004 when she was 18. She served as a combat instructor during her IDF service. While she studied law and international relations at IDC Herzliya, Gadot was building her acting and modeling career. She gained worldwide fame and became an icon in Israel for portraying Wonder Woman.

Born May 17, 1992

Sagi Muki is a half-middleweight judoka. He won a gold medal in the 2019 World Judo Championship which made him the 2019 World Champion of Judo. Sagi Muki started learning judo at the age of four and decided to focus on Judo when he was only eight years old. He was coached for 19 years by Israeli judoka Oren Smadja, an Olympic bronze medalist.

Born September 18, 1981

Lucy Aharish is an Arab-Israeli born in Dimona, Israel. She currently serves as a news anchor at Reshet 13. She is notable for being the first Muslim Arab news presenter on mainstream Israeli television. Currently, she lives in Tel Aviv with her Jewish-Israeli husband, Tsahi HaLevi.

December 6, 1924 - May 18, 1965

Born in Egypt and with Arabic, as his mother tongue, Eli Cohen was equipped with the perfect credentials to become an Israeli spy. After unsuccessfully applying to work for the Mossad, he was later recruited to infiltrate the Syrian government. During the 1960s, he served as the chief advisor to the Syrian Minister of Defense where he was eventually uncovered as a spy and sentenced to death. The intelligence that he gathered before his death was an important factor in Israel's success in the Six-Day War.

January 3, 1939 - November 26, 2013

Arik Einstein was an Israeli singer, songwriter, actor, and screenwriter. He is considered to be one of the greatest and most influential Israeli artists of all time and was named "The Voice of Israel". His musical career began when he joined the prestigious Nahal Brigade army band. After that, his career spanned over 50 years during which he recorded over 500 songs.

September 9, 1939

Reuven "Ruvi" Rivlin is an Israeli politician currently serving as the 10th President of Israel. Before he entered politics, he served as the manager of the Beitar football team. He went on to become the Minister of Communications and the Speaker of the Knesset before becoming President of Israel.
